  Brand new (Summer 2007) hotel in Fort Smith, AR. Popular with soccer and baseball tournaments. Lots of unsupervised kids running up and down the halls until 11:00 pm. Hotel even has as part of their check-in a highlighted comment about noise reduction, so it must be a problem of sorts. Walls are paper-thin transmit all noises from upstairs, downstairs, and next door(s). Construction is substandard... tile is cracking in elevator, hallways, even bathroom. Ergonomics not well thought out; bathroom is HUGE but bathroom tissue/toilet paper is three feet from "the throne". Also, the walls are already patched and in some places are cracking. Area above the elevator is rough. Rooms are actually nice, the Wi-Fi works well, A/C is refreshingly quiet for a hotel and it is also one of the latest-generation energy-efficient models that only turns on when needed. Breakfast is a below standards, if you can get it. My visit was coincident with a soccer tournament and the breakfast area was overrun with kids (20-30) and one adult. Pool is tiny, and could only contain a dozen of the same kids (again, without adult supervision, but that is editorial and not reference the hotel). Checkout is quick if you can get the clerk to get off the phone with her personal call and/or the manager to get off her smoke break. Rear part of the parking lot was not yet complete, still constructing a fence for security, should be done by October, area is not bad, though, actually a relatively decent part of Fort Smith. This place is so new that the runoff in the parking lot wasn't well-known and with 5-7 inches of rain a tree fell on a truck parked in the lot. This review sounds bad but place will hopefully improve. Otherwise look elsewhere.
